According to Jazz News, Joe will be appearing at a benefit for the National Kidney Foundation of Southern California hosted by JD and the Straight Shot (fans of the James Gang may remember JD and The Straight Shot as the opening act for the "James Gang Rides Again" 2006 tour).
The event takes place June 24th at the Roxy in Hollywood, California. Regular tickets are $50, and VIP seats go for $125. The ticket price includes an open bar and appetizers.
The proceeds go specifically to benefit Harold Owens, the founder of the MusiCares charity who is currently awaiting a transplant. (MusiCares is the charity that honored Don Henley in 2007 with a Lifetime Achievement Award.) If you'd like to donate without attending, you can go to the National Kidney Foundation of Southern California's website.
